Content to prepare Dahi Vada: –
To make a vada:
1) ½ cup urad dal
2) ½ cup moong dal
3) Salt as per taste
4) ¼ teaspoon baking powder
5) ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
6) 1 teaspoon chopped ginger
7) Oil for Frying
For making curd: 1) 2 cups curd
2) Well chopped coriander leaves
3) 1-2 chopped green chilies
4) Salt as per taste
5) 2 teaspoon ground cumin powder
6) Red chilli powder as per taste
7) 1 teaspoon sugar
Method of preparation of Dahi Vada
To make vada
Wash and clean the lentils and soak them in water for at least 7-8 hours.
Now wash the lentils thoroughly and take out the water from it and grind them together to make a paste, do not add water at all in the paste. Your paste should be thick and not dry or thin.
Now take out the paste in a pan and beat the mixture well for 10-15 minutes until the mixture mixes well. By doing this, the vada will become soft. Now add salt, cumin, ginger and baking powder to the mixture.
Now heat the oil in a vessel for frying and now with the help of a spoon, make small balls of the mixture in the hot oil, making sure that no more than 8-9 balls are put together. And kept frying them on low flame.
Now fry them till they become light golden. Now take them out on the kitchen paper.
Put 1 teaspoon of salt in 2 cups of hot water in the bhajan and add fried vadas. Now let them soak for 1 to 2 hours. Till then you make curd. For curd, first beat the curd well and keep it in a pan.
Now keep the curd in the refrigerator for 1 hour to cool down.
Before serving the curd, add salt, red chili powder, sugar and cumin powder to it.
to serve :
Squeeze the vada one by one out of the water and put the vada in a deep plate and put curd on it.
Now garnish with coriander leaves and green chillies.
Serve cold Dahi vada.
